For nearly 200 years the Arsenal was a U. S. Army Materials Technology Laboratory. The property, consisting of 14 large brick buildings on over 30 acres, was sold to the town, then to a developer who converted 700,000 square feet into office and retail space. Royal Design was able to retain and highlight much of the building’s brick and steel structural features. Utilizing the existing large window openings, the volume of the lobby and customer areas was given a bright, open and airy feel.
