Stonehedge Inn

Conceived by the owner following his many years of travel throughout Europe, this 35,000 square foot European Styled Inn and Restaurant lay perfectly against the backdrop of his 100-acre thoroughbred horse farm in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. Architectural cues were borrowed from early American turn of the century shingle-style manors. A large and graceful Porte Cochere highlights the front entrance and protects visitors during inclement weather. Internally, the plan is broken up into three distinct wings: lobby, restaurant and guest suites. A voluminous lobby accentuated by wood trim throughout greets arriving guests. This hall, which boasts a large ornamental oak stair and hand carved wood balcony above, leads into a great oak paneled drawing room and library highlighted by a grand five-foot high masonry fireplace. The 150-seat restaurant features a wine cellar with storage for over 450 vintage wines from around the world. A large garden terrace located just off the wraparound sunroom serves as the Inn’s “French café.” The gracefully appointed Derby Room will accommodate groups of 10 to 80 people for special events or functions. Guest suites, some with fireplaces and Jacuzzis, are decorated in a country French motif. These well-appointed rooms embrace cozy living and dining areas, and offer king size or double beds plus in-room service bars, cable TV’s and “state of the art” internet connections and communications. Outside balconies and screened porches are additional amenities found in several of the suites at the Inn.
